253 MA stainless steel, commonly known as SS 253 MA, is a lean austenitic heat-resistant alloy engineered for exceptional strength and superior oxidation resistance at elevated temperatures.

SS 253 MA maintains its outstanding high temperature performance through advanced micro-alloying control. The addition of rare earth metals combined with silicon significantly improves oxidation resistance up to 2000°F (1093°C) and beyond.

Nitrogen, carbon, and dispersed rare earth and alkali metal oxides enhance creep rupture strength, making SS 253 MA comparable to many nickel based alloys but at a more economical cost.High silicon and cerium content ensure excellent oxide stability and high resistance to sigma phase precipitation, maintaining ductility over time. With lower nickel content than Grade 310, SS 253 MA provides a distinct advantage in reducing sulfide atmospheres.

Why choose Stainless Steel 253 MA Sheets?

✔ High creep rupture strength
✔ Good performance in sulfide atmospheres
✔ Lower nickel content compared to AISI 310 stainless steel
✔ Excellent fabrication and weldability

The relatively low nickel content in SS 253 MA Sheets provides better resistance in sulfide-rich environments compared to high-nickel stainless steels.
