Salem Stainless Steel Suppliers Pvt. Ltd. is a trusted supplier of premium quality in various tempers, thicknesses, and dimensions. Known for its exceptional strength, corrosion resistance, and excellent work-hardening rate, Type 301 Stainless Steel is widely used in industrial and consumer applications.
About 301 Stainless Steel
301 Stainless Steel is an austenitic stainless steel containing approximately:
- 17% Chromium
- 7% Nickel
This composition provides excellent strength, good corrosion resistance, and outstanding ductility when cold worked. It is especially suitable for applications requiring high strength and good formability.
Type 301 is:
- Non-magnetic in the annealed condition
- Slightly magnetic after cold working
- Not heat treatable for hardening
- Easily weldable and formable
Available Tempers of 301 Stainless Steel Sheet
We supply 301 Stainless Steel Sheet in multiple conditions to meet specific mechanical requirements:
- Annealed
- 1/4 Hard
- 1/2 Hard
- Full Hard
Due to its high work-hardening rate, 301 Stainless Steel is commonly supplied in harder tempers where enhanced mechanical strength is required.
Key Features of 301 Stainless Steel
- Excellent work-hardening capability
- High strength-to-weight ratio
- Superior fatigue resistance
- Good corrosion resistance
- Excellent heat resistance
- Easy welding and fabrication
- Good formability in annealed condition
In the Full Hard condition, Type 301 maintains approximately 9% elongation in 2 inches compared to Type 302 Full Hard at around 2%, offering improved toughness and durability in finished components.
